Early Childhood Education

This three-year BSc suits prospective early years educators and researchers who want a research-led route into working with children from birth to eight. Studying early childhood education at UCL means pairing the theory of how young children develop and learn with structured time in real educational settings, so graduates leave ready to step into early years teaching, child development, or curriculum roles, or to progress to postgraduate study in education, special education, or child psychology.

The degree builds progressively. The first two years establish core foundations such as cognitive development, language acquisition, and inclusive education, while the third year turns to leadership in early childhood education and hands-on professional placements. Taught full-time in English on UCL's central London campus and delivered by specialists in the field, the programme combines academic depth with the practical experience that employers and further-study routes expect.
